WALLINGFORD
BRONZE PERMIT NIGHT FISHING
A long venue of about 1.75 miles of some 85 swims divided into two sections above and below Benson Lock.
B section has suffered considerable erosion and many pegs can only be fished with difficulty or at low water. Always check swim area to ensure that it is safe and has not been undercut. Far bank feeder fishing produces good nets of Chub, Roach and Perch.
Section A is a good walk, but upstream of the Lock is on a long sweeping bend which has not suffered the same erosion problems. Near bank fishing is favoured with Chub and Bream featuring with Roach and Perch.

NEW SHARED WATERS WITH LAA FROM 2024
We are delighted to announce that two more excellent Thames venues, just downstream of our Wallingford stretches, will be available to RDAA members from 16th June 2024. We have agreed to take over the maintenance and bailiffing of both the LAA stretches at South Stoke (East Bank) and Cholsey (West Bank) - approximately 1.3 miles in total.
We have strimmed and cleared 18 swims at South Stoke but the Cholsey stretch is very overgrown and will have to wait until the winter months for major works. However, for those who don’t mind a walk there are a few fishable spots alongside the island and above the famous Brunel railway bridge which marks the downstream boundary on the West Bank. Cholsey has form for specimen chub with chance of an elusive Thames carp. Access is via Ferry Lane off the A329 Reading Road. Park to the right of the track before the slipway.

South Stoke is an easy walk and is well known for its quality roach fishing. Some big shoals of bream are also present along with good chub and pike. Access is via the track at the end of Ferry Road, South Stoke and just beyond the Perch and Pike pub. Park on the right of the track before the river. The railway bridge marks upstream boundary on the East Bank.
VENUE CLOSED
